Following God's Call

It seems that we cannot turn on the television without being bombarded by images of suffering and devastation from around the globe. Photos of people surviving nightmare disasters flash before us: earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, famine, disease, war, and genocide. Right now as you read this, entire populations of human beings are struggling to survive in a world that has stripped them of hope and dignity. They are real people with real lives... people who cuddle their babies and love their spouses and feel sorrow and joy just as you and I do. They are people created in the very image of God.

SFL has been called to demonstrate God's love by enabling the poor and suffering to rebuild their communities and restore their lives. As we look to the future, SFL seeks to follow God's leading as He directs us to serve people displaced by conflict and disaster.
