House Nearing Completion in Banda AcehSFL has offered hope for a future by initiating a shelter program to assist families in rebuilding their lives and communities in the devastated area of Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Phase I was conducted in partnership with Peduli Bangsa, a local Indonesian NGO. SFL's goal was to help displaced families return to their communities by enabling the construction of 71 new starter houses which were completed by December 2005. Project costs were provided by the National Association of Home Builders, Taylor Trust, and individual donors. In Phase II, Crossroads Christian Community funded the construction of an additional 50 starter homes, again through a partnership of SFL and Peduli Bangsa. This project was completed in July 2006 with the construction of 50 starter homes. In total, 121 starter homes were constructed by SFL and Peduli Bangsa in Banda Aceh.
