Pakistan's Swat Valley... 3 Million Flee! May 7, 2009 Shelter for Life's staff is working with other agencies on the ground to help with the largest exodus in Pakistan's history. There is much to be done, and the needs are great as thousands arrive every hour. Many have only brought what they can carry and require shelter, food and water, and medical attention. Please pray for those families that have left their homes and their lives to escape the fighting. Please pray for discernment as SFL and cooperating organizations determine how to respond to both immediate need and long-term strategy. Please give and give generously. Enable SFL to respond and show the love of Christ to thousands in their time of need. Many have fled south to the refugee camps and communities surrounding Mardan. SFL is working on the ground to asses the needs as Pakistani officials expect nearly 500,000 refugees to flood the area, the largest exodus in Pakistani history. Please consider supporting SFL so we can help provide the most basic of needs. |
